We’ve made some significant changes in preparation for more functionality related to customer quotes and invoices. You see some different things going on around invoices, but the basic processing remains essentially the same.
We’ve also added holds to jobs, just like with materials, expenses, and others. So now you can color your jobs.
What’s New
Add Holds to Jobs
Jobs can now have a hold set on them.
In the job lists, click the checkbox beside each job you wish to adjust.
Click on Apply to Checked Items at the bottom of the list and select the hold color that you wish to apply.
The job list can be filtered by holds using the Hold Filter at the top of the form.
Allow selecting Scopes on Quotes Form
The job quote form has been modified slightly so that when you view the quote, you’ll need to click on the Edit button to see more.
When editing the quote, you’ll see a list of job scopes that can be associated with the quote. You can select and deselect each applicable scope.
Currently, you can apply a job item to the quote using the edit form of the job item.
Further functionality is pending for manipulating quotes, such as bulk applying items to a quote.
Invoice and Quote Consolidation Groups
Consolidation Grouping is step 1 of broader improvements to add greater control to customer quotes and invoices.
The intent is to allow you to create multiple groups of job items for a single invoice, where items can be shown together for future display on customer quotes and invoices, allowing you to group similar items together on an invoice, such as materials or time sheets.
We know it appears complex at first, but we are working to simplify this going forward. If your invoices are simple, we hope you can treat single groups as just as a single invoice. Further documentation will come. We would love your input on this.
Each quote and invoice will automatically have a consolidation group created to hold all of the job items. We’re working to add template groups to help this.
When viewing a quote or invoice, there is a new Consolidation Groups tab that lists all of the groups and allows you to add and delete groups. Each invoice or quote needs a least one group record in order to track items on the invoice.
When adding an item to an invoice, the default group is automatically applied. Selecting an invoice from the invoice dropdown will show the available groups for that item.
Fixes and Improvements
Fix display of notes icons on the job list pages
Notes icons were showing outside of the list of jobs
Expand CSV export functionality on time sheet list forms
Exporting time sheets as a CSV file will respect the current context instead of always exported every time sheet. For instance, if you are viewing time sheets for a job, only those time sheets are exported.
Fixed typo in a database condition in Monthly Job Report
A regression bug caused a failure when running the report.
Fixed select dropdowns with empty values
Handle empty values by providing a default "not entered" text.
Fixed overdue/late highlight on job and action lists
Refactored tooltip handling in job forms to display overdue and bid class information.
Added better styling of overdue and job statuses.
Show Hold table headers with vertical text orientation.
