Our Story
Total Job Asset Control Services began with the quest for a better software solution for managing an electrical contracting company, Variety Electric. Available software at the time just didn’t offer the needed features and flexibility, and providers weren’t open to creative solutions offered. Glen Greep, the owner of Variety Electric, enlisted the help of his brother John, an innovative software engineer, to build the tools he needed.
Full-time development of T-JACS began in April 2015 and rapidly increased beyond the initial basic capability for managing jobs and inventory into the robust and comprehensive business management tool it is today. T-JACS was developed incrementally, with each new feature getting a real-world workout, focusing on accuracy and reliability. Initially deployed in a garage, the application was migrated to a cloud server environment, where it gained its current performance and stability.
As T-JACS grew and developed, it became obvious to us that businesses in the trades and other industries everywhere could benefit from this incredibly powerful software. We are excited to now be able to offer this amazing application to you and include you in our ongoing story.
Who We Are
John Greep
SOFTWARE ENGINEER & CO-OWNER OF TOTAL JOB ASSET CONTROL SERVICES (T-JACS)
John has over 25 years of experience in software design, development, and analysis. He has spent 19 of those years with Shaw Cable, working on their billing and reporting applications, including maintenance of a 3000+ user CRM application. He is truly a full stack developer with experience in front-end web technology and back-end business logic, including database design and maintenance. He is also not afraid to get his hands dirty, having spent time himself working in the trades, with first-hand experience of the unique needs and frustrations involved in the industry. When he’s not busy creating awesome business software, he loves spending time in the outdoors, particularly camping, hiking, and hunting (which often happen all at the same time). He also enjoys photography (see here), and being involved with youth, having spent 25 years as a Scouts Canada volunteer.
