Release 4.14
SUMMARY
Along with the new HR Admin role, we've added notes to the employee record. There is a setting for sensitive content to restrict anyone but HR from viewing notes. Currently, all notes are restricted regardless of the setting.
This release is relatively small and earlier than anticipated due to some necessary fixes. We've fixed some issues with timesheets not reporting in the correct PO/Invoice. These were only a problem on jobs using scopes. We also fixed an issue that prevented changing the scope on a timesheet from the timesheet listing page, and only if you were not on the first page.
We've encountered some issues with the planned framework update. The vendor supplied update routine has not been maintained as expected. We've raised the issue with them and they've acknowledged the problem. Currently, there's no plan going forward about how they'll address this. The alternative is a longer, more manual migration.
NEW FEATURES
Employee Notes
We've built a new structure for recording notes. This was implemented for the employee record. There is a new Notes tab you'll see when opening an employee record. You can add multiple notes that are timestamped with an optional expiration date to automatically delete notes in accordance with your retention policy. The default retention period is defined in the T-JACS Admin page under the Employee tab. The default is currently 36 months (or 3 years). The maximum default retention is 10 years.
The Action Required field will be used as a reminder that the note needs attention.
The Sensitive Content field, if checked, will prevent the employee from viewing the note. Currently, even if left unchecked, only HR Admins can see the note. You should anticipate that this functionality will be enabled soon, so be sure to always check this field if the note is sensitive.
The method of adding notes is new. Similar to other lists, the add form is at the bottom of the page. What is new is that the form is hidden until you click on the Add note title. This method will be extended to other forms where it makes sense.
This note structure is desirable for Job and Customer notes. We'll begin the process shortly of migrating the notes to this structure.
FIXES
Fix Timesheet List not updating Job Scope
When viewing the Timesheet tab on a job with scopes, updating the scope would have no effect if the target timesheet was listed on any page except the first page.
Timesheets missing from Job Report
The Report tab on a job with scopes was not grouping the timesheet under the appropriate Customer Purchase Order/Invoice.
Progress does not show on Job Task List
As promised in the last release, this is now fixed.
